Marquette Alger RESA and the Social Studies Learning Team invites secondary educators to participate in an in-depth professional development session designed to enhance social studies instruction through high-quality resources and proven instructional strategies. Offered in collaboration with the Levin Center for Oversight and Democracy at Wayne State University Law School, this training will feature resources from the center’s Learning by Hearings program, supporting the development of inquiry-driven, civically engaged, and literacy-rich classrooms. Educators will leave with access to research-backed resources and practical tools to deepen student understanding, encourage critical thinking, and cultivate active, informed citizenship. Participants will also engage with standards-aligned material and explore collaborative strategies to implement these approaches effectively in their own classrooms.
