AI in the Math Classroom: Amplifying Thinking, Reasoning, and Problem Solving
Artificial intelligence has the potential to support mathematical thinking—when used intentionally. This session explores how AI can enhance reasoning, problem solving, and mathematical communication without replacing core skills or procedural fluency. Designed for math educators, this full-day experience focuses on using AI as a tool for sense-makingmultiple representations, and student reflection.
Participants will explore classroom-ready strategies where AI supports students in explaining their thinking, exploring alternative solution paths, visualizing concepts, and engaging more deeply with complex problems. Emphasis will be placed on maintaining rigor, supporting diverse learners, and setting clear expectations for ethical and responsible AI use in math instruction
    Target Audience
    K - 12 Math Teachers
    Learner Outcomes

Participants will be able to design math learning experiences where AI enhances reasoning, problem solving, and mathematical communication without replacing core skills or procedural fluency.

Participants will be able to implement classroom-ready AI strategies that support multiple representations, alternative solution paths, student reflection, and deeper conceptual understanding.

Participants will be able to establish clear expectations for rigorous, ethical, and responsible AI use that supports diverse learners while maintaining mathematical integrity.
