Session Details

AAC in Action is a monthly professional learning series designed to make Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) practical, approachable, and easy to implement across school settings. Each 30–45 minute session will spotlight an AAC strategy, tool, resource, device, or vendor and provide participants with practical ideas they can take back to their classrooms and teams. 

Time: 8:00-8:30am

• October 9: Modelling Maagic
• November 5: Glint by NerChat and Cognishine
• December 3: Stepping into AAC
• January 7: Voice It and Stenomasl
• February-May: TBD

Format: Virtual via Zoom

Length: 30–45 minutes per session

Attend one session—or join us all year! Act 48 provided at the end of the series based on attendance

• AAC Knowledge & Awareness: Participants will increase their understanding of AAC tools, systems, strategies, and resources available to support students with complex communication needs.
• Practical AAC Implementation: Participants will identify practical strategies for incorporating AAC into everyday classroom routines, instructional activities, and natural communication opportunities.
• Collaborative AAC Support: Participants will strengthen their ability to collaborate with students, families, educators, SLPs, and other team members to promote consistent and meaningful AAC use across environments.
