Foundations of Effective Specialized Group Services

This course will provide an overview of Specialized Group Services within Elwyn ELS. The session will provide a definition of "Specialized Group Services", offer guidance on recommending group services and will overview benefits of group services and IEP implications. The course will then pivot into a "workshop" structure in which 5 elements of effective Specialized Group Services will be provided with a heavy emphasis on application and practice. Those five elements include: Data & Assessment, Caregiver Coaching, Co-Facilitating & Planning Groups, Schedule - Routines - Expectations & Physical Design and Promoting Engagement.

Learner Outcomes
|
|
Participants will increase knowledge of the Specialized Group Services within Elwyn ELS - including a definition of this type of service, basic components, when to make recommendations, IEP implications and 5 elements of effective specialized group services.
