    Coaching Classroom Management

Are you an administrator, coach, or teacher who would like some tools to support teachers around effective classroom management?  Perhaps you are a teacher who is engaging in the peer observation process and seeking data collection ideas to help enrich your own learning around classroom management.

Coaching Classroom Management is a hybrid course that is based on the Safe and Civil School’s positive approach to classroom management. The core beliefs of Safe and Civil Schools include the following:

    • All students must be treated with dignity and respect.

    • Students should be taught the skills and behaviors necessary for success.

    • Motivation and responsibility should be encouraged through positive interactions and building relationships with students

    • Student misbehavior represents a teaching opportunity.

Practical tools and strategies will be provided to help the participants gather appropriate classroom management data and engage in coaching cycles with teachers.  Each participant will choose a “case study teacher” and complete and share a video of a coaching conversation around classroom management.
