Audience: K-12 Educators
The Michigan Model for Health™ Program (MMH) provides educators with a comprehensive, evidence-based Pre-K to 12 curriculum that promotes positive healthy decision-making, personal well-being, and lifelong wellness through engaging, age-appropriate lessons. This training will provide curriculum review on these key health topics areas:
Balanced Eating and Physical Activity
Substance Abuse and Misuse
Mental and Emotional Health
Community and Environmental Health
Safety
Healthy Relationships
There are two portions to this training:
Complete the online training course
The Michigan Model for Health™ online training course gives Pre-K through 12th grade teachers confidence in their ability to implement MMH’s skills-based health education instruction.
The course is designed as an interactive, self-paced training with a duration of 1 to 1.5 hours in length and contains video teaching examples, demonstrations, and role playing applicable to both new and previously trained educators.
Meet virtually or in person with Regional School Health Consultant, Stacey Sills to complete the second portion of the training. This will take no more than 30 minutes. This can be done individually or with a group from your district.
All participants must complete the online portion of the training prior to meeting with Stacey. Once you register, you will receive a link to complete the online portion.
In this training, participants will receive access to the updated and digital Michigan Model for Health™ curriculum at no cost (with the availability of grant funds).
Training Cost: There is no cost to attend this training (training and materials are provided by grant funding)
