    Teacher Assistant

     

    Become a valued part of classroom instruction and make a difference in students lives as a Teacher Assistant. If you’ve always wanted to be a teacher and couldn’t find the time while juggling life and other responsibilities, this is the perfect program for you. In six short months you’ll be in a classroom helping students in your new career. 


    Work with students alongside supportive instructors.

     

    CertificationNational Career Readiness Certificate and ETS ParaPro

     

    Dates:  9/8/2026 to 11/12/2026

    Cost:  $959 (includes text books, materials, and certification exam cost)
    Format:  Traditional
    Location:  ThompsonM-TEC Main Campus

     Program Courses/Schedule:

    • ETS ParaPro Prep: $507 (9/8/2026 - 10/15/2026, T/TH 9.00am-11.00am)
    • Teaching Techniques: $239 (9/16/2026 - 10/29/2026, T/TH 11.00am-12.00pm)
    • Foundations of Teaching: $213 (11/3/2026 - 11/12/2026, T/TH 9.00am-12.00pm)


    To secure your spot in the program, a $100 non-refundable deposit is required. This deposit will be credited toward the tuition for your first class. You don’t need to pay for the entire program upfront; you can pay per class. However, each class must be paid in full at least two weeks before its start date.

If you select cash or check, you must make your payment within 5 business days to hold your spot. If payment is not received, you risk being unregistered from the program.

If you are working with an agency (such as Michigan Works or Michigan Rehabilitation Services), please note the agency's name in your registration so we can coordinate with them.
