Classroom PBIS - Proactive and Preventative Practices for the Classroom: February 2026

    February 18 & 26, 2026

    8:30 AM - 3:00 PM

    Location: Fillmore Complex, West Olive

    Audience: Classroom Teachers PK-12

This training will provide proactive strategies that foster positive relationships with students while decreasing behavioral errors. These practices set the stage for increased academic, social-emotional and behavioral outcomes. PBIS in the classroom is designed for elementary, middle school and high school educators. Classroom practices are critical to implementation of school-wide PBIS, and are integrated into the successful implementation of a MTSS framework. During this two day training participants will engage in learning and practice around the 6 essential classroom practices which support positive behavior and student engagement. These six practices include the physical classroom environment, teaching classroom expectations, active supervision, encouraging positive behavior, a continuum of responses to behavioral errors and creating an engaging learning environment for all students.

Training in classroom PBIS will help educators to:

    • Improve educational equity within the classroom
    • Create a classroom management plan supporting student success
    • Motivate all students, even those with frequent behavioral errors
    • Lead to increased academic, social-emotional and behavioral positive outcomes
    • Reflect on how PBIS strategies not only promote positive behavior but also align with the core principles of trauma-informed care by creating predictable, safe and supportive environments where all students can thrive.
