Accounting Assistant

    Accounting Assistant

    Students learn the basics of accounting for business applications and will have the foundational skills to perform accounting operations for a sole proprietorship or a corporation.

    Students gain an understanding of:

    • Accounts receivable
    • Accounts payable
    • Payroll functions
    • Inventory valuation
    • Accounting for uncollectible accounts
    • Depreciation
    • Notes

    Dates:  1/6/2026 to 5/6/2026

    Schedule:  Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM
    Cost:  $2,451 (includes text books, materials, and certification exam cost)
    Format:  Traditional
    Location:  ThompsonM-TEC Main Campus

    Pre-requisites: Keyboarding, Introduction to Computers (comp outs available)

    Program Courses Include:

    • Business Communications: $352 (1/6/2026- 1/29/2026, T/TH 9am-12pm)
    • Accounting I: $479 (1/7/2026 - 1/28/2026, W 9am-12pm)
    • Accounting II: $376 (2/4/2026 - 5/6/2026, W 9am-12pm)
    • QuickBooks Online: $664 (2/4/2026 - 5/6/2026, W 12.30pm-3.30pm)
    • Building your Professional Brand: $580 (3/17/2026 - 4/30/2026, T/TH 9am-12pm)

     

    To secure your spot in the program, a $100 non-refundable deposit is required. This deposit will be credited toward the tuition for your first class. You don’t need to pay for the entire program upfront; you can pay per class. However, each class must be paid in full at least two weeks before its start date.

Payment Instructions

If you select cash or check, you must call our office at 616.738.8935 to make your payment within 5 business days to hold your spot. If payment is not received, you risk being unregistered from the program.

If you are working with an agency (such as Michigan Works or Michigan Rehabilitation Services), please note the agency's name in your registration so we can coordinate with them.
