January 6, 2026 AND March 26, 2026 from 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM - 24 total Act 48 hours
This program is designed to prepare teams of teachers to introduce drones in a fun, non-threatening, and inclusive way that engages all students. Educators will learn technical skills while also exploring strategies for addressing learner variability and making drone activities accessible to diverse classrooms.
Who Should Participate
- Teams of at least two educators per district, ideally including a special education teacher
- Teams must commit to all program requirements
2025–26 Program Requirements (24 Act 48 hours)
- January 6, 2026 – Build-Fly-Code-Compete
Assemble a Hopper drone, practice safe flight skills, and explore block coding to plan and execute drone flights. Includes time for hands-on practice and team workbook reflection. - March 26, 2026 – Learner Variability & Instructional Planning
Learn strategies to design drone activities that are inclusive for all learners. Explore Universal Design for Learning (UDL), asset-based teaching, and connections to CS standards while working through workbook activities. - Complete team workbook sections and participate in a virtual, asynchronous end-of-year check-in
- Attendance at both live sessions is required
2026–27: Implementation & Capstone Phase
Continue the work by implementing drone activities in your district and sharing outcomes in a capstone showcase.
