    Check and Connect Mentor Training 25-26

    Check & Connect is an intervention used with K-12 students who show warning signs of disengagement with school and who are at risk of dropping out.  This training will be held on February 13, 2026 (9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.) at the ARIN Central Office.

    Objective(s): Mentors  will

    • learn strategies to build relationships with students, have a long-term commitment to the students, and work with persistence to support the students through thick and thin.

    • learn how to use a systematic check of relevant academic and behavioral data to connect with students and design appropriate, immediate interventions

Participants must attend the full workshop in order to receive Act 48 hours. (Hours are not prorated for late arrivals/early exits.) Session begins promptly at 9:00 AM.  Participants must sign in by 9:00 AM and must sign out at the end of the workshop to earn the ACT 48 hours offered for this workshop.

Note:  Registration is a commitment for payment unless cancellation is made at least 48 hours prior to the activity.

Payment Instructions

Districts will be invoiced following the activity.  Individuals not affiliated with a district should bring payment with them on the day of the workshop (either a check made out to "ARIN IU 28" or cash in the exact amount) - upon arrival, stop at the front desk to make your payment and receive a receipt.
