Every student deserves an equal opportunity to learn, participate, and thrive - and the right technology can help make that possible. Tech that Levels the Learning Field is an engaging, hands-on training for general and special education teachers who want to unlock the potential of assistive and inclusive technology in their classrooms. Through exploration, discussion, and guided practice, participants will learn how to use tools that break down barriers and open up new learning pathways for students with diverse needs and abilities. This session will take place on January 30, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at ARIN IU 28. Participants will be able to: - Identify and explore a range of assistive and inclusive technology tools that support access to curriculum, communication, and independence.
- Engage in hands-on practice with tools such as text-to-speech, speech-to-text, alternative input devices, and accessibility features on common platforms (e.g., Google, Microsoft, iPad).
- Learn how to assess student needs and match appropriate technologies using a practical, student-centered framework (e.g., SETT or similar)
