Michigan Model is an evidence-based prevention and social-emotional learning curriculum. It addresses the major health risk behaviors identified by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The elementary curriculum is organized by grade level and covers the following six main health topics with age-appropriate content per grade: social-emotional health, substance use prevention, safety, nutrition, physical activity, and personal health and wellness. This workshop is geared towards K-6th grade classroom teachers, health, or physical educators covering the Michigan Model for Health Units for those grade levels. Participants will receive access to the updated, digital Michigan Model for Health curriculum and have the option to receive materials kits at no cost to districts.
The agenda and zoom link will be shared with participants 1 week prior to the event.
Five (5) SCECHs will be available for those who complete the entire session.
