Crisis Prevention Intervention: CPI New User Training 2020-2021

The cornerstone of CPI since 1980, this program is considered the global standard for crisis prevention and intervention training. With a core philosophy of providing for the care, welfare, safety and security of everyone involved in a crisis situation, the program’s proven strategies give human service providers and educators the skills to safely respond to various levels of risk behavior while balancing the responsibilities of care.

Participants will build confidence and skills through exploration of verbal and nonverbal techniques, use of body language in approaching students, personal safety techniques, handling fear and anxiety and safe physical control techniques. Non-violent crisis intervention is a safe, non-harmful behavior management system that provides the best care, welfare, safety and security for all involved and fits the recommendations listed by MDE on Restraints and Seclusions.
