Co-Teaching for Cooperating Teachers

Description of class: St. Vrain is committed to growing and supporting the best talent. Starting summer 2020, all cooperating teacher/student-teacher placements will utilize a results-based co-teaching model in which a cooperating teacher and a teacher candidate work together with groups of students, sharing the planning, organization, delivery, and assessment, as well as the physical space. Co-teaching leads to higher student achievement and stronger teacher preparation.

This first part of the class will be a four-hour, hybrid training. If you would like to receive the stipend for implementing the models and applying what you learned from Part I, please sign up for Co-Teaching Seminar.

Cooperating Teachers will be able to do the following:

? Articulate what co-teaching is/is not and why it has the potential to impact student-teacher practice and
student achievement
? Identify the differences between the Co-Teaching and Traditional model in student teaching
? Distinguish among various models of co-teaching by comparing and contrasting attributes of each
? Identify the different roles co-teachers might take in the partnership

**You can now pay for your class with a debit/credit card or electronic check.  The link will be at the top of the registration confirmation page after you select your payment type.**
