Rural Arts Collaborative Spring Institute hosted by Oglebay Institute Stifel Art Center

In 2014-15, with funding from the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation, the RURAL ARTS COLLABORATIVE (RAC) Education Project was formed. The premise behind the proposed RAC consortium approach was to recruit teaching artists to work in local school districts in designated rural counties in Southwestern PA, with the ultimate intent to infuse a more diverse arts education approach into existing curriculum, enhance the social and cognitive learning process for students, and ultimately contribute to sustained partnerships amongst educators, artists and students in the region.

The Oglebay Institute Stifel Art Center is working with the Rural Arts Collaborative to host a RAC Spring Institute to come together to share RAC project experiences, themes, and project outcomes. It will also serve as a forum for artists, teachers, principals, superintendents and local government officials to hear and share their stories of how the project has successfully impacted their students academically, socially, emotionally and their respective communities. We invite you to join us for this event.
