Mastering the SOP: Your Student's Passport to the Future, September 2026

12:00 - 2:00 pm

September 29, 2026

Location: ISD, Careerline Tech Center, Door #7, Room A107

Audience: Special education professionals who develop Transition IEPs

Instructor: Emily Westfall

The Summary of Performance (SOP) is more than paperwork; it is a vital document for employers, postsecondary institutions, and community agencies, outlining a student’s academic achievement and functional performance at graduation, completion of a Certificate of Completion (COC), or age 26.

When students transition from the high-support school environment to adult community settings, the SOP preserves and clearly communicates their voice, preferences, modifications, and complex support needs so nothing is “lost in the move.”

This two-hour workshop coaches high school and postsecondary teachers to write impactful SOPs with clear, actionable recommendations that support students’ postsecondary goals.
