Mapping the critical reading and writing standards is one thing; choosing teaching strategies that help students reach DOK 3 and 4 is another.  Join Carrie Rosebrock and explore John Hattie’s research around literacy and depth of knowledge.  Gain tangible reading lessons that promote critical thinking and actually address the complexity in today’s reading

  • -Explore literacy strategies that promote surface, deep, and transfer of knowledge

  • -Gain mini-lessons that improve the citing of evidence and development of arguments

  • -Determine what works (and what hurts) in regards to critical thinking in the ELA classroom
