Culinary Foundations
Ready to step into the kitchen with confidence? The Jackson Area Career Center, in partnership with Taher Food Services, is launching Culinary Foundations—a hands-on course designed for adults who want to build real-world kitchen skills from the ground up.
Target Audience
This course is perfect for anyone 18 and older, whether you’re exploring a new career path or simply want to sharpen your cooking abilities. No prior experience is required. Participants will learn essential techniques in safe food handling, kitchen organization, and basic culinary preparation in a supportive, professional environment.
Learner Outcomes

Through guided instruction and practical experience, students will gain the foundational skills needed to work efficiently and safely in a commercial kitchen setting—while building confidence every step of the way.

 

Certifications

ServSafe: Food Handler and ServSafe: Kitchen Manager
