Unboxing Lit & STEM: Summer Design Series
The Summer Lit Box Design Series is an asynchronous professional development opportunity designed for K-12 educators to bridge literacy and hands-on STEM exploration. Participants will select a book from the new PSTL (Promoting STEM through Literature) collection and design a comprehensive "Lit Box" lesson that brings the story to life through student-led activities. Each participant will be allocated a specific budget to cover material costs, allowing teachers to customize their lit boxes to fit their specific classroom needs.

Participants will increase their understanding of the REMC Promoting STEM Through Literature series by deeply analyzing a new book for instruction. Participants will model the design-thinking process (literacy, engineering, and collaborating) as they build their grade level lesson plans and materials list. Participants will also use this lesson in the 26-27 School Year and submit evidence to compete the requirements.
