HIV Prevention: K-12 Summer Orientation 26-27
This virtual workshop for 4th - 12th grade teachers facilitates best practices in instruction for HIV prevention education. Topics covered include curriculum selection, laws around reproductive health education and HIV prevention education in Michigan, data on HIV and other STIs, and answering challenging questions. At this workshop, Michigan Model for Health HIV lessons are disseminated. Per Michigan law, any teacher teaching HIV must go through this training prior to instruction. It is also strongly suggested that anyone teaching Sex Ed or HIV attend this training once every 5 years. This training is applicable for classroom teachers responsible for covering HIV content, or health educators teaching grades 4-12.

For teachers in the EUP, COP, COOR, or AMA regions, a $150 stipend is available if you are participating prior to your "return-to-school" contract date.

Please note: If you are unable to attend HIV dates but need to participate in the training, please reach out to Helen Craig, School Health Coordinator, at hcraig-isd@eupschools.org for assistance.
