Puberty Education Training for 4th and 5th Grade Teachers

This virtual training prepares 4th, 5th, and 6th grade classroom or health teachers to implement puberty curriculum. This training is not specific to a particular curriculum. Content in this training includes: -Teacher mindset & skills for covering puberty content. -Proficiency in subject knowledge: Key concepts related to puberty that include physical, emotional, and social changes. -Organizing & Planning: Ensuring Michigan laws & standards are being followed when covering content -Best practices for creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment for puberty education, including classroom management strategies for successful implementation of lessons. -Strategies to address common student questions and misconceptions effectively. -Tools and resources for implementing the curriculum
Prior to the training, educators will need to: -Determine which puberty curriculum or lessons has been approved for use by their district -Ensure they have full access to the curriculum through their district.
