Sex Ed Supervisor Orientation: 101
|
All districts providing sex education in Michigan must have a Sex Ed Supervisor who supervises instruction (§380.1507). Supervisors can be health educators with 3 or more years of experience teaching health content, a registered nurse or physician, or other administrator as appointed by the district.
The Sex Ed Supervisor 101 is an orientation for new sex ed supervisors. In this training, supervisors will: -Learn about Michigan Law on HIV/STI Prevention and Sex Education -Review their school board policies regarding sex education -Receive materials to help guide them informing a sex ed advisory board.
Supervisors will also share resources, and discuss needs for the upcoming school year and how those needs can be supported by their regional school health coordinator.
Please note - this training is offered twice. Participants only need to participate in one meeting. The zoom link and agenda will be sent to registered participants one week prior to the training. A Sex Ed Supervisor 201 training will be offered on February 6, 2026. For questions on this training, please contact Helen Craig at hcraig-isd@eupschools.org
