Event Details

Sensory Processing in Preschool Early Intervention

This professional development session addresses sensory processing and its impact on participation within the preschool environment. This session defines self-regulation and co-regulation, as well as provides insight into the interpretation and application of sensory assessment results to a child’s unique sensory needs. 

 

Cancellation Policy: If participants need to cancel, we ask that they unregister for this event 2 days in advance through the above website. Elwyn ELS reserves the right to cancel any course due to insufficient registration or extenuating circumstances. Please do not make non-refundable travel arrangements until you have called us and received confirmation that the course will be held. We are not responsible for any expenses incurred by participants if the course must be cancelled.

Elwyn OT practitioners and internal/external staff working in early intervention 
Learner Outcomes

Learning Objectives/Outcomes:  

  1. Participants will demonstrate conceptual knowledge of sensory processing in preschool-aged children, including self-regulation, co-regulation, and sensory based interventions.  

  1. Participants will practice interpreting Sensory Profile 2 assessment results and developing individualized strategies.  

  1. Participants will demonstrate implicit knowledge of sensory processing concepts within the naturalistic preschool environment.
