Through this PST, participants will deepen their professional skillfulness by collaboratively studying, implementing, and reflecting on the instructional workflow shifts outlined in The Shift to Student-Led. Rather than simply learning about student-centered instruction, participants will have opportunities to intentionally redesign aspects of their lessons, experiment with new strategies, and reflect on their effectiveness through student feedback and evidence of learning.
This experience will challenge us to examine our current instructional practices and identify opportunities to shift more of the thinking, decision- making, and responsibility to students while maintaining appropriate scaffolding and support. Through professional discussion and shared
reflection, we will develop a stronger understanding of how to balance teacher guidance with student independence.
Ultimately, the goal is to create learning experiences where students are more actively engaged, take greater ownership of their progress, and develop the skills necessary to become independent, self-directed learners. This collaborative learning will also support my MSL goal by providing a structured opportunity to implement and evaluate meaningful instructional changes
throughout the school year.
