Concussions are a common yet complex injury affecting students across academic, athletic, and extracurricular environments. While symptoms may not always be visible, the cognitive, sensory, emotional, and physical effects of a concussion can significantly impact a student’s ability to learn, participate in school activities, and safely return to sports.
This presentation will provide educators, athletic staff, and intermediate school district professionals with a practical understanding of concussion physiology, common symptom presentations, and how these symptoms manifest in the classroom and during physical activity. Participants will learn evidence-based Return to Learn and Return to Play protocols, explore appropriate academic and environmental accommodations, and gain insight into therapeutic interventions that support recovery. Emphasis will be placed on collaboration between schools, families, healthcare providers, and rehabilitation professionals to promote safe recovery and long-term student success.
Lunch is provided.
