Event Details

Teacher Assistant

Students learn and apply communication and collaboration skills, classroom management techniques and strategies, and employ fundamental knowledge of educational philosophies. This class will include 2-3 field visits to classrooms to gain an in-depth view of the duties of the classroom paraprofessional.

Students will receive all of the necessary knowledge to sit for the ETS ParaPro assessment. Using classroom instruction, practice tests, and a variety of online prep materials, students will learn the reading, writing and math skills to take the ETS ParaPro assessment.

Online classes will be in an online format, with classroom instruction provided every other week.

Certification: National Career Readiness Certificate

 1/6/2026 to 5/6/2026

Schedule:  Tuesday and Thursday, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Cost:  $2,049 (includes text books, materials, and certification exam cost)
Format:  Traditional/Online
Location:  ThompsonM-TEC Main Campus

Pre-requisites: Keyboarding, Introduction to Computers (comp outs available)

  • Business Communications: $352 (1/6/2026- 1/29/2026, T/TH 9am-2pm)
  • Teaching Techniques (online): $303 (1/15/2026 - 3/17/2026, W 9am-12pm)
  • Foundations of Teaching: $213 (2/3/2026 - 2/19/2026, W 9am-12pm)
  • ETS ParaPro - Prep: $601 (2/24/2026 - 4/2/2026, W 12.30pm-3.30pm)
  • Building your Professional Brand: $580 (3/17/2026 - 4/30/2026, T/TH 9am-12pm)

 

To secure your spot in the program, a $100 non-refundable deposit is required. This deposit will be credited toward the tuition for your first class. You don’t need to pay for the entire program upfront; you can pay per class. However, each class must be paid in full at least two weeks before its start date.
