Event Details

Medical Records Specialist

This program focuses on becoming a medical records specialist.  It includes instruction on how to function in an administrative role within the medical office.

Skills You Will Learn

  • compiling, processing, and maintaining medical records 
  • patient scheduling
  • maintaining the integrity and protection of patient information
  • sending and receiving reminders, messages, and emails
  • knowledge and skills needed to successfully perform insurance and billing related duties

 

Certifications:  Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA)


Dates:  1/6/26 to 5/7/2026

Schedule:  Tuesday and Thursday, 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Cost:  $2,910 (includes text books, materials, and certification exam cost)
Format:  Traditional
Location:  ThompsonM-TEC Main Campus

Pre-requisites: Keyboarding, Introduction to Computers (comp outs available)

  • Business Communications: $352 (1/6/2026- 1/29/2026, T/TH 9am-12pm)
  • Medical Terminology (online): $381 (1/13/2026 - 4/14/2026, T (every other) 12.30pm-1.30pm)
  • Medical Clinic Workflow: $427 (2/3/2026 - 3/5/2026, T/TH 9am-12pm)
  • Medical Coding (online): $206 (2/10/2026 - 3/26/2026, T (every other) 12.30pm-1.30pm)
  • Medical Billing: $577 (3/10/2026 - 4/23/2026, T/TH 12.30pm-3.30pm)
  • Building your Professional Brand: $580 (3/17/2026 - 4/30/2026, T/TH 9am-12pm)
  • CMAA Certification Prep: $387 (4/28/2026 - 5/7/2026, T/TH 12.30pm-2.30pm)

 

To secure your spot in the program, a $100 non-refundable deposit is required. This deposit will be credited toward the tuition for your first class. You don’t need to pay for the entire program upfront; you can pay per class. However, each class must be paid in full at least two weeks before its start date.
