Event Details

IUSP, FBA & BIP. Oh my . . .

This training outlines the Char-Em Individualized Behavior Support Process which includes the development of Individualized Universal Support Plans (IUSP) and the use of the Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) process (DASH) and behavior plan development. Participants will review the foundations of behavior science to inform these processes and deeply consider the components of a quality Functional Behavioral Assessments to develop quality behavior intervention plans.  The sessions will also include processes for monitoring outcomes and ensuring implementation fidelity. Emphasis is placed on creating practical, function-based plans that include prevention, teaching, reinforcement, and response strategies.

This is a two-day training. Participants are expected to attend both sessions.

Learner Outcomes
  • Describe the foundational principles of behavior science and neuroscience and their application to intensive behavioral support.
  • Identify the critical elements of a quality Functional Behavioral Assessment.
  • Use assessment data to develop function-based behavior intervention plans that incorporate prevention, teaching, reinforcement, and response strategies.
  • Establish processes to monitor implementation fidelity and evaluate intervention outcomes.


Pending approval, State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs) will be offered for this training. Further information will be provided by the presenter at the training.
