Certified: Gets .50 Inservice Credit and Aides/Assistants will be paid for their time and will receive a certificate for their records.
Any teacher/employee of the Washoe County District who works directly with students with behavioral/aggressive concerns.
This course offers an introduction and proactive model with techniques to provide a safe environment. The preventive techniques will teach the student to identify useful nonverbal techniques in prevention of acting out behavior, to develop verbal techniques to be implemented when de-escalation of verbal acting out is necessary, to understand physical principles of persons on safety techniques to avoid student and staff injury if behavior scales to a physical level and to provide for the best care and welfare.
Inservice credit is only available if this course is taken during non-contract hours.
