Come and experience the newly revised and condensed Michigan Model for Health Curriculum for Grades k & 1. This course will provide an overview of the new skill-based lessons which cover the following topics: Social and Emotional Health (character education), Nutrition and Physical Activity, Safety, and Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drugs, and Personal Health and Wellness (grade 1 only). You will learn how implementation of health curriculum addresses barriers to learning and can be incorporated into the core curriculum. Teacher manuals and some classroom materials will be disseminated. Registration begins at 8:00am and the course begins promptly at 8:30am. The audience for this course is teachers of K-1.
