3117 MI Model for Health: Grades 7-12 (Nutrition, Physical Activity & Violence Prevention) - 3117
Leave this course prepared to teach skill-based lessons in three middle school and high school modules focused on violence prevention, nutrition (NEW!), and physical activity. The 7th and 8th grade modules are: The 2 R’s for Stopping Assault and Preventing Violence, What’s Food Got to Do With It? and It’s Time to Move! The 9th through 12th grade modules are: Managing Conflict and Preventing Violence, Help Yourself to Good Nutrition and Stay Physically Active for Life. You will discover how implementation of these modules addresses barriers to learning and promotes student success. This curriculum can easily be used to cover the Health portion of the Michigan Merit Curriculum requirement - 1 credit in Health and Physical Education. All teacher manuals and some classroom materials will be disseminated. Registration at 7:30 a.m and the course begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. The audience for this course is middle and high school health teachers.
