Learn how to facilitate an alternative, school discipline procedure called “Restorative Conferencing”, which is recommended by the American Psychological Association. You will learn how to hold students more fully accountable than with conventional school discipline while, at the same time, reducing re-offending; earning parent support; and addressing the needs of those affected by the misconduct. You will be guided to consider how to integrate this process into your current policies and procedures. This course is licensed by the International Institute for Restorative Practices (www.iirp.org), which is a well respected, non-profit organization. You will receive a certificate from IIRP. Registration begins at 7:30 am and the course begins promptly at 8:00 am. The audience for this course is counselors, social workers, psychologists, discipline specialists, teachers and administrators.
