Discussion and implementation ideas for guided reading. Fountas and Pinnell reading assessments, small group work, centers, available resouces and materials, and a variety of other reading strategies.

This committee will review data, discuss strategies, and plan reading focuses for the district.

Attendees will learn about how the reading workshop is an effective tool not only to develop reading skills among students through effective mini lessons, but also to create the space and time so the teacher can run an effective guided reading session. Eventually students become independent critical readers. There will be demonstration and simulation of the strategies to be implemented.
