This course covers the various topics that the Sales Engineer, Applications Engineer (AE), Account Executive, or Consultant must be proficient in.
The student will be presented with the various choices that must be made, with recommendations that weigh the tradeoffs between the choices. For example, the choice of the following will be presented:
• C•CURE 800 vs. C•CURE 9000
• Best Model to specify, considering scalability
• Best Windows Server platform
• apC vs. iSTAR
• iSTAR Pro vs. iSTAR eX
• iSTAR Pro vs. iSTAR Pro Rack Mount
• Direct Wiegand readers vs. RM bus readers
• Other considerations
Basic and advanced features of the C•CURE 800 and 9000 systems will be presented with an exercise to select the best model for a given set of needs.
The integration of CCTV, DVRs, paging, e-mail and other third party features will be discussed.
Recommended cabling and wiring specifications and methods will be covered, along with choices in networking and databases. Various FIPS, UL, and other compliance requirements will be reviewed.
All discussions will be based on designing the most cost effective solutions for the task. The Software House MSRP will be used for many of the exercises.
The course is performance based with several student labs.

Course Description / Topics:
This is an End User program designed to cover topics relating to system configuration, management and operation of the C•CURE 9000 system. There is some coverage of the Windows operating system, as it relates to the C•CURE 9000, followed by system administration and monitoring tasks including the use of C•CURE ID (Badging). The course teaches the skills required to configure, operate and maintain a C•CURE 9000 system, including configuration of cardholders and security objects, report generation, backup procedures, and import/export of cardholder records.
*Note: this is not a hardware or integrator technical course.

Course Description / Topics:
This is an intensive program designed to cover topics relating to system installation, configuration, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the C•CURE 9000 System. All aspects of system administration, monitoring, and C•CURE ID badging are covered. There is also comprehensive hardware coverage including the iSTAR® controllers, iSecure™Controllers (ISC), and associated readers, inputs and outputs. All methods of connecting hardware including network interfaces are covered. This course is heavily focused on hands-on hardware and software labs requiring the student to actually install, configure and troubleshoot the various components.

EMC AutoStart / Replistor for C•CURE 9000

Product Description:
Redundant solutions using AutoStart and Replistor will be designed and installed by personnel from Software House and Integrators. This course is for technical partners that will be involved in those installations and who will be responsible for using and maintaining the systems after installation.

Course Description / Topics:
The course covers site evaluation, installation, configuration and troubleshooting of the C•CURE 9000 System in a redundant configuration using AutoStart and Replistor. There will be labs to configure the system and simulate fail over. The integration of this product in a Microsoft Windows 2003 Domain with Active Directory will also be covered. The EMC AutoStart SQL option will be used as part of the solution. The first two days cover a mirrored HA (High Availability) solution using AutoStart and results in Certification. The last day covers two solutions that utilize a Disaster node across a WAN using Replistor along with AutoStart. This Course is designed to meet the needs of those Integrators and End Users that require a redundant solution for the C•CURE 9000. The supported scenario is a C•CURE 9000 and full SQL database on the same server. Systems using SQL Express or a remote SQL server are not supported by this option.

Wireless Access System for C•CURE 9000
Product Description:
The Wireless Access System is designed for companies who want to locate some of their access control readers remotely and requires no hard wiring.
The system is comprised of a wireless OMNILOCK portal gateway and wireless readers. Each wireless access portal supports a minimum of 16 readers and a maximum of 128 total readers regardless of the number of portals installed. Various reader technologies allow you to gain access with a 4-6 digit keypad ID code only or by HID Proximity card or Magnetic Stripe card.

The course covers site evaluation, installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Wireless readers in a C•CURE 9000 System.
There is detailed coverage of how to evaluate the site for RF interference in the 2.4 GHz band. The use of a Wi-Spy™ Spectrum Analyzer will be covered and each student will get to take the Spectrum Analyzer hardware and software with them. There is also coverage of how to use the Stanley Site Survey kit which is available for sale or lease to Software House integrators.
Students will configure readers and portals in a lab environment and learn how to configure various card formats. Various portal configurations will be demonstrated and tradeoffs discussed. There are built in methods to measure performance that will be demonstrated and connecting to the portals and other configuration/trouble-shooting techniques will be covered. This is a certification course for integrators.
