Technology Workshop Category Curriculum Integration Subcategory Moodle is an open source learning management system which is gaining adoption by many school districts. Participants will learn how to effectively use the course interface and learning tools of the system. Handouts and lunch will be provided. Participants will lean how to organize and file data on their computer system. This workshop will cover how to create folders and store information within those folders on your computer system, how to save and store e-mail information, how to retrieve documents once they are stored. This workshop will show you how to align a variety of curriculum standards through Clay Animation. Participants will learn about preproduction, scripting, storyboards, and shooting a Clay Animation master piece. Participants must bring an open imagination! Handouts and lunch will be provided.Internet/Web Page Subcategory Learn how to check the validity of website information, the proper uses of a search engine, and great FREE online resources, such as United Streaming, Thinkfinity, WolframAlpha, Google Tools, and Apple Learning Interchange. Handouts and lunch will be provided. Participants will learn how to use the iPhone and its technology features. Features to be covered are: how to make calls; how to send e-mail and surf the web; how to sync; how to make web clips; and how to download and use software for your iPhone. Handouts and lunch will be provided.Multi-Media Applications Subcategory Participants will explore various techniques to improve the creation and delivery of presentations in the classroom. The workshop will introduce participants to desktop and online solutions including: PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Docs and Web 2.0 application. Handouts and lunch will be provided.Text/Publishing Applications Subcategory Participants will learn how to use the Word 2007 features to create documents to communicate information with students and parents. The features of Word to be covered are setting up and making changes to information in a document, creating a mail merge letter and labels. Handouts and lunch will be provided. |
