Boulder County Latino History Project Teacher Workshop [A]
Target group: K-12 teachers

Explore how to incorporate Boulder County Latino History into existing curriculum using local primary sources and materials developed by community members, BVSD teachers and curriculum specialists. We will focus on primary source techniques from the Library of Congress and use Teaching Tolerance guidelines to engage in civil conversations about ethnicity, race, privilege and discrimination. Lessons about Los Seis, Labor Movements, Civil Rights, Migration/immigration, and Ethnic Identity are highlights. Explore more at our website: http://teachbocolatinohistory.colorado.edu/
High School Social Studies Adoption Training (TCI)

This one day training will give teachers a tour of TCI digital platform, the instructional cycle, and lesson format that teachers will use to execute lessons and assign content to students. The morning will be conducted by a TCI training consultant, and the afternoon will be time to work with the pilot teachers in planning and implementation. All high social studies teachers who will be using TCI in the fall of 2018 must attend one of these summer trainings.

Register for either the June session or the August session. When registering, you must choose one compensation option:

  • .5 semester hour of professional development and salary credit
    OR
  • .5 semester hour of stipend and professional development credit only (7 hours extra duty pay). This credit may used for re-licensure.
