Being a Special Educator in St. Vrain - NOVICE

Target group: This class is required for all NEW Special Education Teachers (0 - 2 years of experience)

This class is designed for NOVICE School Special Education teachers. This class will give participants an understanding of St. Vrain policies and procedures in special education and the state and federal regulations that drive these processes. Participants will learn how to navigate “Enrich” (on-line IEP software) and apply their learning to write quality Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) with appropriate data collection and progress monitoring. Participants will explore best practices in instruction including effective classroom management, using assessment to drive instruction and IEP goals, and reflect on their professional practice. This class allows new staff an opportunity to personally interact with district special education administrators and coordinators. A portion of each class focuses on “burning” questions from the participants.
