Using Thinking Maps to Capture Complex Thinking and Create Complex Writing Grades K-2


Target group: K-2 teachers, including ELD, literacy, and MTSS specialists

This course welcomes all elementary classroom teachers and academic support specialist/interventionist who desire opportunities to explore how to use Thinking Maps to help students tackle the complex reading and writing demands within our new curricular resources. We will explore how to combine, extend, and scaffold learning with Thinking Maps to help students capture and effectively organize complex thinking in order to produce complex writing.

Participants will learn through exploration and collaborative planning and apply new learning immediately in their classrooms. Class objectives are created to match the elementary literacy curriculum scope and sequence.
