           CS - HeartSaver Pediatric First Aid with CPR
Heartsaver Pediatric CPR and First Aid course The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid course is a credentialed course specially designed to train those responsible for children´s health in meeting state-specific requirements. This course is backed by comprehensive state-by-state research, and is formatted to allow instructors to customize it to include all topics required. Course modules cover first-aid basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies, and environmental emergencies. The Heartsaver CPR with AED course trains lay rescuers to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies with adult and child victims. The course combines hands-on training with Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) commonly found in offices and schools. The American Heart Association is committed to providing students with the most recent, effective resources including a textbook and CD-ROM (included in price of class) which incorporate the most up-to-date, science-based treatment recommendations. Class is approximately 5 hours in length and includes a certification card good for 2 years. Cards will be issued approximately 10 days following the course.

Target Group: Staff who previously participated in "Re-energizing Your Spirit."

Learn to increase your self-confidence and improve your assertiveness skills to avoid stress-prone victimization attitudes and mismanaged anger.

Participants in this class will align the integration of the conscious and unconscious minds (mental training) to reframe their perceptions for optimal health and well-being.

Pre-requisite: Completion of the class "Re-energizing Your Spirit". Please bring your course folder or stress management workbook.
     Safe Environment Subcategory

           Looking at Gang Related Issues - Advanced / Trends and Issues [A]

Target Audience: District Staff (Licensed and Classified) and Community Members,

PREREQUISITE: Registrants SHOULD have taken the previously offered Basic Gang classes.

Why should anyone want to take this class? See what the Rocky Mountain News says:

Gang activity is a reality in our schools. This is an issue in our community that we cannot ignore.

This session will focus specifically on identifiable risk factors and identifiers that make an individual susceptible to gang activity.

We will describe the research based strategies to address those risk factors and how to create protective assets for individuals to reduce the possibility of gang involvement

Participants MUST attend both sessions in order to receive credit.

Licensed Staff may select 0.5 semester hour of credit if they have attend the Basic Course previously.
