Experienced members and new members of the Classroom Assessment Learning Team will jointly engage in small-group inquiry into areas of their own assessment practices.
Some possible small group inquiry topics:
Using student-friendly language for standards and objectives
Precisely defining learning targets
Matching assessment methods with learning targets
Relationship between assessment & student motivation
Grading and report cards
Feedback conferences
Student-involved parent conferences
Portfolios
Performance assessment
Development of high quality rubrics
Converting rubric scores into grades
Developing high quality selected response assessments
Standardized testing
Incorporating technology into formative assessment
Participants have the opportunity to share their experiences and learn from each other at the monthly meetings.
