           504 Legal Training
504 Training provided by David Richards, Attorney, will assist 504 Coordinators, school site administrators and Special Services staff in issues of compliance and current regulations for 504.
           District Wednesday Support Group for Teachers Working w/Students w/Autism [A]
This workshop will provide the teachers and staff some formal training on the different techniques used for working with children with autism. Each month a topic will be presented and discussed in depth. CEUīs will be available for ancillary staff if their discipline allows CEUīs from RRPS. Therapists must indicate the need on the sign in sheet.
           Making Inclusion Work-Effective Practices for Co-teaching
For General and Special Educators that are new to co-teaching. We will cover how to establish a functional inclusion classroom and strategies for working together and with a team. To be covered: Planning, Communicating, Meeting with Co-Teacher, Meeting with Team, Modifying curriculum and implementing accommodations, Assessment options.
           Reactive or Proactive: Improving You Crisis Response Team
Focuses on practical team-strengthening strategies. Supports your efforts to create a proactive crisis response team. Reviews Team Approach interventions, examines elements which create an effective response team, identifies ways to overcome obstacles and examines risk/threat assessment as part of the prevention process.
           SEAS (Assessment Report Writer) Training
NEW Special Ed teachers, GE Teachers who transferred into a SE Teacher position, NEW Site Specialists & NEW ancillary staff (including social workers, SLPīs/ASLīs, OT, PT, RT)should attend this training.
           SEAS (IEP Writer) Training
New Special Ed teachers, GE Teachers who transferred into a SE Teacher position, NEW Site Specialists & NEW ancillary staff (including nurses, social workers, SLPīs/ASLīs, OT, PT, RT, and Transition Specialists)should attend this training on how to write IEPīs using the SEAS software.
           Support Group for Parents and Staff of Students with Autism
This is primarily a Support Group for parents. It would be very beneficial if the teachers and staff would support their training as well. Various speakers will be presenting throughout the year on different topics that will interest the parents. What follow-up resources or opportunities will be made available to participants? District Wednesdays for staff as well as RRPS 2nd Annual Institute Part II on Nov. 1st Individual workshops on your campus may be set up through your Site Specialists
