The NSDC standards are intended to be used by schools and school districts to improve the quality of their staff development efforts so that student learning will be increased. Based on the belief that "improvement is always unfinished," these standards can be used to stimulate discussion and analysis that leads to greater staff development effectiveness no matter what the current level of performance.
