Recent revisions to the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) have resulted in new requirements under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act/Chapter 15 of the PA School Code. This session will summarize the requirements of the ADA of 1990, the ADA Amendments of 2008, and Section 504/Chapter 15 for local education agencies.
Objectives

PaPOS Utilizing the Data Results

This session is designed only for LEAs who participated in the Pennsylvania Post School Outcome Survey (PaPOS) in Cohort Group # 3 or as a volunteer LEA during the Cohort Group # 3 surveying cycle 2007-09 (Exit 2007-08, Post 2008-09). The purpose of PAPOS is to determine, for the state as a whole, the extent to which students are achieving transition outcomes as stated in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Cohort # 3 LEAs will be provided with their exit and post survey summaries and will be presented with strategies to assist in the interpretation and utilization of the data results.
Target Audience

Parents, Teachers and Paraeducators Working Together to Support Literacy Development

This 1 1/2 hour webinar, sponsored in partnership between the Parent Education Network (PEN) and PaTTAN, is designed to provide practical information regarding methods and strategies that may be used by special education paraeducators working with students with disabilities in a variety of educational settings. This session will assist special education paraeducators in obtaining knowledge and skills needed to work towards obtaining the PA Credential of Competency, as well as provide ongoing in-service training hours as required by PA regulations.
This session will focus on the roles of educational team members - parents, teachers and paraeducators- in promoting literacy in students. who have disabilities.

Objectives
Participants will:
- Explore the important partnership between parents and educational team members in helping children build literacy skills
- Identify the five components of reading.

- Learn about reading resources and community agencies which can support parent-school literacy efforts.

2010 PSSA Accommodations Guidelines Training for Students with IEPs and 504 Plans

This is an introductory level session to explore the 2010 PSSA Accommodations Guidelines for students with IEP´s and Act 504 plans. During this session, presenters will review current test security and administration procedures, examine techniques for making decisions concerning accommodations for students with IEP´s and 504 Plans, and discuss accommodations for students with various types of disabilities. In-depth information will be provided on accommodations for students with visual impairment, hearing loss and multiple disabilities, and you may join the webinar for any of those specific topics--please check the schedule for time.
In order to obtain credit, however, participants are required to join as the session begins and remain for the entire presentation.
This training is intended for those who have not previously attended an accommodations training, including teachers of students with disabilities.
