7th Grade Social Studies Network 2009

September 30, 2009-8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. and
December 3, 2009-4:30-8:00 p.m.

These sessions introduce teachers to 7th grade curriculum units from the Michigan Citizenship Collaborative Curriculum based on the new social studies content expectations. Teachers will be connecting and sharing with teachers across the state. Two units of study will be highlighted: Unit 2-Africa: People, Places, and Issues and Unit 4-East Asia: People, Places, and Issues. The network is designed to highlight best practices in social studies education and deepen teacher knowledge of geography. Teachers will examine unique features of the MC3 materials and learn about practical instructional strategies for use in their classroom..
