Blues and Rock Guitar Summer Workshop

(For students entering grade 7 and up) This course will teach students the fundamental elements of blues and rock guitar, with an emphasis on areas in common between the two styles. Familiarity with open position chords and basic right hand strumming and picking technique is needed. The techniques and styles covered will focus on the electric guitar. The instructor, Mike Duke, is a professional guitarist/vocalist specializing in jazz, blues, and rhythm and blues. Students need to bring an electric guitar and small amplifier to each class. Enrollment limited to 9.
