Big Diamond Baseball
|
The Big Diamond Program is designed for the 13, 14, and/or 15 year old player who seeks to strengthen his or her game at the next level. Emphasis will be placed on building arm strength, base running awareness and skill, situational hitting, fielding, and overall game strategy. These skills will be honed in drills and practiced in a daily game that will afford players opportunities to play and improve at several positions.
This program uses a building block approach to develop and enhance fundamental skills in hitting, pitching, throwing, base running and fielding. Youth players at all levels from beginner to all-star practice fundamentals through drills and activities designed to make the game fun for all children. The skills are then applied as players participate in a baseball game every day. Younger players participate in coach pitch games while players ages 9-12 participate in regulation games played on a 60 foot diamond. Instruction is enhanced by instructional baseball videos and area coaches who serve as guest lecturers. Veteran high school, college and youth league baseball coach, Mike Pabian, will direct his Sandlot Baseball School for the sixth consecutive year at Minuteman. Coach Pabian has worked successfully with players at all levels, and has been named Manager of the Year by the Bedford Babe Ruth Baseball and Softball League.
