Colonial Life: April 19, 1775 - History-ColLife
Learn about local colonial life in 1775, in terms of people, townships, and the economy. The emphasis will be on the people participating in the events that took place on April 18 & 19, 1775 in Boston, Lexington, Concord, and Menotomy (Arlington), the day our nation was born. We will review the events that lead up to the American Revolution, and the impact on the local people. See how a group of farmers, shopkeepers, and simple men came together to fight the greatest army of the day (Great Britain), on April 19, 1775. You will have a chance for discussion and questions regarding this material. There will be an opportunity to take a tour of the historical Jason Russell House in Arlington, MA. More lives were lost, both British Soldiers and Patriots, at this farmhouse area, than any other place on April 19, 1775.
