This course is for the guitarist who has some basic left hand (chords) and right hand (strumming and picking) technique and
wants to learn more. It’s a good follow-up
for students who have previously taken the
Beginning Guitar course. We’ll expand on
many areas introduced during the Beginning
Guitar course. New topics covered will include moveable chords such as bar chords, power chords, and chords with muted strings. Our emphasis is on expanding our knowledge of the guitar neck through learning and performing songs in various popular musical styles. Acoustic guitars are preferable, but students
may also bring electric guitars. Students
using electric guitars should also bring a small amplifier.
