           Baskets of Christmas Winter Greenery
Decorate two baskets with a plush assortment of fresh preserved wniter greenery that includes boxwood, incense cedar, pine, holly, and more. Add a touch of berries, pods, pine cones, and anything else your heart desires! Enjoy these lovely arrangements throughout the holidays and winter months. No experience necessary as Madeleine will gently guide you each step of the way. IMPORTANT: Please bring a glue gun, plenty of glue sticks, scissors and wire clippers to class.
           Beginner/Intermediate Knitting
If you´ve ever wanted to learn to knit or if you´re stuck on a project, this class is for you. Join a seasoned, yet patient, knitter with 20 years experience for knitting inspiration and conversation. Casting on, knitting, purling, multi-color knitting, increasing & decreasing, and finishing will all be covered.            Beginning & Continuing Acrylic Painting
This course is a studio based course and we will be painting the first night! Come ready to explore the versatile medium of acrylics! Perfect for artists who want to explore different styles! Several basic painting techniques will be discussed, including color mixing, glazing as well as washes (just to name a few!). Subject matter will include landscape, still life and figure. The cost of the kit is included in the course fee. Kits include 4 canvases, a canvas paper pad, a set of acrylics and brushes.
           Beginning & Continuing Jewelry Design
Students will learn about the fine craftsmanship of jewelry design. Students will be able to explore a variety of wire wrapping techniques, making simple loops, sideways loops, how to use chains and jump rings, head pins, and crimper tools. We will be making necklaces, bracelets, anklets, earrings, and other crafty beaded items. Students will look at styles and types of beads. For example, Swarovski crystal, see beads, glass beads, pendants, charms, etc. Students will learn a variety of styles for necklace and bracelets such as single and double strand or droplet styles through wire wrapping, etc. Students will need to purchase a tool kit for approximately $25-$30.
           Beginning & Continuing Watercolor Landscape Painting [A]
We´ll start with drawing the first night working with white shapes for those who may not have prior or recent drawing experience. Then quickly we will move into color, color mixing, values and composition using landscape as our subject focus for this class. Washes, wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, dry brush and other methods of creating textures in our painting will be introduced. Continuing students (those who have had at least one prior watercolor class) are welcome and will receive guidance on their painting work in an independent study framework. Art supplies will be kept as basic as possible, but expect to spend a minimum of $50 for materials. Bring white drawing or printer paper, a #2 pencil and white plastic eraser to the first class. Bring watercolor supplies by the second class session.

           Designing Symbols: Mythological and Magical Beasts Workshop
Take a fascinating journey into the visual language of antiquity. Among the beasts are the sphinx, the unicorn, the Green Man, and, of course, dragons. Explore symbol systems, discover ancient roots of familiar symbols and investigate heraldry. We´ll construct our own coat of arms or design a personal symbol. Bring a sketchbook and pencils, with your choice of colored pencils, markers, and/or pen and ink.
           Floral Centerpiece Design
Why continue to pay for holiday centerpieces when you can have fun while learning to make them? Spend an evening learning and having fun while creating a bright and beautiful floral arrangement to enjoy at home. This course will focus on basic floral design as well as care and maintenance of fresh flowers. Instructor´s experience and background include numerous wedding and special event flowers as well as managing a local flower shop. In addition, she has worked locally as part of a design team for a small florist.
           Flower Arranging I
This course utilizes a hands-on approach in learning the basic design and placement of fresh flowers in an arrangement. During this 8 week class, numerous vases and containers will be used in creating beautiful fresh flower designs. Discussion concerning care and maintenance, longevity, what to look for when purchasing and the color wheel will be addressed. Each week a new arrangement will be made and students can bring them home.
           Front Door Wreath

Spend an evening creating a pumpkin that will be the envy of your neighborhood! Halloween is a great time to display the beautiful arrangement you can incorporate into a fresh pumpkin. Seasonal fresh flowers will be used to create a stunning display that will last throughout the holiday.
           Herbal Kitchen Wreath
Fragrant bay leaves, oregano, chili peppers, tansy, and much more are all tucked into a vine base to create this French country herbal wreath with a touch of Provence. No experience is necessary.            Interior Design
During this three week class, you´ll learn the elements and principles of design and explore how they apply to enhancing your rooms. You´ll also learn how to do a floor plan and view slides of "before and after" rooms to see how the ordinary can be transformed. You´ll also receive some additional tips you can use to decorate your home.
           Introduction to Bonsai Art
Learn about the history and styles of Bonsai (miniature trees). You’ll receive your own Bonsai to work on during the class and bring home with you, along with tips and handouts telling you how to keep it flourishing during all four seasons. You’ll also learn tips on how to select and buy Bonsai.

           Portrait Drawing
Introduces the student to the basics of portrait drawing. We will review some drawing basics and concentrate on the structure of the face and head. We will have a live model at some classes to draw from, where we will apply what we´ve learned and practice our skills. Our aim is to understand the underlying structure of the human head and to get a reasonable likeness of the model. Some experience with drawing is recommended in order to gain the maximum knowledge from this course. Students will need a 11" x 14" spiral bound notebook, a smaller notebook that would fit in a pocket, a small free standing mirror (about 6"), 3 pencils ranging in hardness from HB to 6B, a pink pearl eraser or something similar and a kneaded eraser.
           Shooting Better Images - Beginners Photography
Nothing makes moments in life more enjoyable than being able to capture them in a photograph. In this course, youvwill learn how to take better pictures from an award-winning photojournalist with ten years experience in the field. in this beginner´s class, you will learn about your digital SLR´s bells, whistles and buttons and learn how to use them. Learn some techniques to make your photos more creative, and become more comfortable with your camera technically. A digital camera is required (35 mm SLR recommended). Come join us! You can do it!
           Shooting Better Images- Intermediate Photography
In this class, a follow-up to Photography for Beginner´s, you will be encouraged to shoot only in Manual Mode with your SLR. together we will critique the photos you shot during the prior week We will play some more with panning, stop action, blur, and portraiture as well as learning to use light to your best advantage. We will go further into capturing "slices of life" with a camera, discuss landscape shooting, and travel photography. A digital camera is required (35mm SLR required)
           Spring Flowers Parent/Child
Wreaths, baskets, bunnies and more are beautifully decorated with an assortment of colorful spring flowers, buds and berries and accented with ribbons and bows. Join us for a fun, relaxing evening and leave with an assortment of professional quality designs. Adults are welcome to attend this class.            Stained Glass
Learn how to cut and foil stained glass, and then practice your technique on individual projects. Here’s your chance to make some unique, personalized gifts and ornaments with the guidance of an experienced teacher. Your additional cost for materials, which will be discussed during the first class, will be about $85 to $100. Students who bring check or cash to the first class will have the option of ordering “kit” of materials directly from our instructor.
           Stunning Sea Shell Wreath
This beautiful wreath is a reminder of warm sunny days and salty sea breezes. Many different textures and sizes of shells will be used to adorn a large wreath with the options of adding sea grasses, mosses and sea glass.            Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow: Introduction to symbolism through classic images
From antiquity symbolic imagery was used to record the history and lives of humankind. This course takes you back in time to uncover the ancient roots of some familiar and some mysterious symbols. Includes symbol systems, creating context with history, archetypes, and the evolution of three symbols. Appropriate for ages 18 to adult.

Refund Policy - Full refunds will be issued when a student withdraws from a course prior to the start date. A 75% refund will be issued to students withdrawing prior to the second class and 50% prior to the third class. No refunds will be issued after the third class, unless there are extenuating circumstances.
